Storm Chasing Day Five
On day five, we knew we weren't going to have to go far so after a late start we set of for north central Kansas where we picked up a rapidly developing supercell thunderstorm near Hill City. The speed at which this storm developed was amazing and in less than 45 minutes it had gone from being a towering cumulus to an HP monster! We were well positioned to see the multiple tornadoes this storm produced and at one point the only team nearer than us was Tim Samaras and his probe team.
