London Thunderstorm

On the 3rd of July, London had had a hot day and was expecting some thunderstorms in the afternoon. In the event, we had a severe thunderstorm in the form of a squall line that crossed the city in the late afternoon. Frequent lightning and heavy rain were accompanied by damaging wind gusts and large hail with several centimetres of pea sized hail reported in south London. These photos were taken from the roof of Islington Police station and show the storm as it approached the city from the west.
